By using FloatMusic you accept the rules below. They are short, because the service is simple.
What this is
FloatMusic is a player for your own music collection. You upload files through this site or from your iPhone, and the app downloads them onto your device and plays them, with or without an internet connection.
This is not a streaming service. There is no catalogue to browse and no music to obtain here. You play only what you uploaded yourself.
The sample track
The app includes one recording to start with: "I Am the Real" by MonoCulture, released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 licence via the Internet Archive. You can delete it like any other track.
Your responsibilities
- You upload only files you have the right to use: your own recordings, ones you bought, or ones whose licence allows it.
- You do not upload music obtained unlawfully, or anyone else's work without permission from the rights holder.
- You do not use your account to distribute other people's work. The service is for private listening.
You are responsible for the content of the files you upload. Accounts are not browsed or moderated, but material may be removed following a credible report of copyright infringement.
My responsibilities
I do my best to keep the service running and your files safe, but it is provided as it is. I cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, nor that nothing will ever be lost in the cloud. If your collection matters to you, keep your own copy of the files.
Your account
Using the service requires signing in with Apple. The account is personal. You can delete it at any time from inside the app: Settings, the card at the top, Delete account. It disappears together with every file you uploaded.
Accounts that break these rules may be suspended or removed, in particular where copyright is concerned.
Storage and costs
Storage limits and paid plans may apply. Any subscription is billed through your Apple Account, renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple Account settings. If terms change, you will be told in advance, and the change will not apply retroactively to what you have already uploaded.

These terms may change. The current version is always at this address, along with the date it was last updated.
